AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 43-5-220, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO OBTAINING SUPPORT PAYMENTS FROM ABSENT PARENTS SO AS TO FURTHER PROVIDE FOR THE RIGHT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO IMPOSE FEES FOR COLLECTING CERTAIN SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Fee

SECTION 1. Item (h) of Section 43-5-220 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(h) In the case of an individual not otherwise eligible for collection services, a fee may be imposed in accordance with federal law, regulations, and guidelines."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
