AN ACT TO PROVIDE A TAX LEVY FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GREENVILLE COUNTY BEGINNING WITH THE 1985-86 FISCAL YEAR, TO CREATE A COMMITTEE TO ADVISE THE GREENVILLE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION ON BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT MATTERS, AND TO DIRECT THE TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GREENVILLE COUNTY TO COOPERATE AND WORK WITH THE GREENVILLE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION AND ITS COMMITTEES TO PROMOTE GOOD EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Levy

SECTION 1. The board of trustees of the school district of Greenville County may levy for the general operation of the school district a tax in an amount not to exceed seventy-two mills.

Committee created

SECTION 2. There is created a committee of three residents of Greenville County to be appointed by the Greenville County Legislative Delegation for one year terms who shall not be able to succeed themselves. The members of the committee must be members of the business community of Greenville County who have skills and expertise in fields of accounting and management. The committee shall advise the legislative delegation on matters related to budget and management of the Greenville County School District and to make appropriate recommendations to the Greenville County Legislative Delegation.

District shall cooperate

SECTION 3. The school district of Greenville County shall cooperate with the Greenville County Legislative Delegation and its committees to promote good educational principles in the district's operations.

Time effective

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
