AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-330, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN JASPER COUNTY, SO AS TO ESTABLISH NEW PRECINCTS AND REVISE PRECINCT LINES; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE CHANGING OF VOTER REGISTRATION TO REFLECT THE NEW PRECINCT FOR ANY PERSON WHOSE REGISTRATION IS TRANSFERRED BY VIRTUE OF THIS ACT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts in Jasper County

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-330 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 473 of 1980, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-330. In Jasper County there are the following voting precincts:

(a) Precinct 1--Ridgeland--Beginning at the intersection of Gillison Branch and SC 652 southeast on SC 652 to intersection with US 278--southeast on 278 to state road 39--northeast on 39 to Bees Creek--east on Bees Creek to Interstate 95--south on I-95 to intersection with SC 336--west on 336 to Wagon Branch--northwest on Wagon Branch to canal--northwest on canal to Gillison Branch--northeast on Gillison Branch to origin.

(b) Precinct 2--Ridgeland--Beginning at the intersection of SC 336 and Interstate 95--south on I-95 to Great Swamp--northwest on Great Swamp to Broadwater Creek--north on Broadwater Creek to Wagon Branch--northwest on Wagon Branch to SC 336--east on 336 to origin.

(c) Precinct 3--Hardeeville 1--Beginning at the intersection of state road 141 and the New River (county line)--south along the New River to SC 170--southwest on SC 170 to SC 46--northwest on SC 46 to the second intersection with state road 176--northwest on state road 176 to the Hardeeville city limits--west in a clockwise direction around the city limits to I-95--south on I-95 to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad--north on the railroad to Bagshaw Swamp--east along the Bagshaw Swamp to the New River--south along the New River to origin.

(d) Precinct 4--Hardeeville 2--Beginning at the intersection of US 321 and the canal--east on the canal to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad--south on the Seaboard Coast Line railroad to I-95--south on I-95 to the county line (Savannah River)--north on the county line to the canal at Mayers Lake--northeast on the canal to the origin.

(e) Precinct 5--Grays--Beginning at Hampton County line and canal north of S-26 and state road 17--northeast on county line to Coosawhatchie River--southeast on Coosawhatchie River to branch north of split in Coosawhatchie River and Tullifiny River--southwest on branch to US 278--north on US 278 to state road 41--west on 41 to Beaverdam Creek--southwest on Beaverdam Creek to SC 462--northwest on 462 to canal--northwest on canal to origin.

(f) Precinct 6--Tillman--Beginning at the intersection of State Highway 119 and county line--north on State Highway 119 to intersection with state road 119--southeast on state road 119 to Cypress Creek by Green Swamp Hunting Lodge--north and northwest on Cypress Creek to intersection with US 321--south on 321 to state road 22--east on 22 to canal approximately 5 miles from US 321 and state road 22 intersection--southeast on canal to Wagon Branch--southeast on Wagon Branch to Broadwater Creek--south on Broadwater Creek to Great Swamp--southeast on Great Swamp to canal--west on canal to county line and Savannah River--north on county line to origin.

(g) Precinct 7--Gillisonville--Beginning at intersection US 278 and state road 41--south on 278 to branch of Coosawhatchie River--north on western branch, then south on eastern branch to state road 53--southeast on 53 to SC 462--west on 462 to state road 39--south on 39 to US 278--northwest on 278 to SC 652--northwest on 652 to Gillison Branch of Beaverdam Creek--northeast on Gillison Branch to Beaverdam Creek and state road 41--east on 41 to origin.

(h) Precinct 8--Grahamville 1--Beginning at the intersection of US 278 and SC 462--northeast on SC 462 to the unpaved, unnamed road--east on unnamed road to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad --northeast on the railroad to the Broad River (county line)--south along the county line to Bolen Hall Road--west on Bolen Hall Road to US 278--south on US 278 to the first road--west on that road to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad--south on the Seaboard Coast Line to state road 162--northwest on state road 162 to the canal--west on the canal to Great Swamp Creek--north on Great Swamp Creek to I-95--north on I-95 to SC 336--east on SC 336 to state road 13--south on state road 13 to the first paved road--east on that road to US 278--east on US 278 to the origin.

(i) Precinct 9--Grahamville 2--Beginning at the intersection I-95 and the northern branch of Bees Creek--east on Bees Creek to intersection with Coosawhatchie River--east on the Coosawhatchie River to the county line (Broad River)--south on the county line to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad--south on the Seaboard Coast Line railroad to the unnamed, unpaved road just north of Coles Creek--west on the unnamed, unpaved road to SC 462--south on SC 462 to US 278--west on US 278 to paved road adjacent to state road 13--west on the paved road to state road 13--north on state road 13 to US 336--west on US 336 to I-95--north on I-95 to the origin.

(j) Precinct 10--Okatie--Beginning at the intersection of Bolen Hall Road and the county line--south and west on the county line to the New River--north on the New River to the intersection with Bagshaw Swamp--west on Bagshaw Swamp to the canal--east on the canal to state road 162--south on state road 162 to the Seaboard Coast Line railroad--northeast on the Seaboard Coast Line railroad to the second unnamed, unpaved road just north of Loders Church--east on said road to US 278--north on US 278 to Bolen Hall Road--East on Bolen Hall Road to the origin.

(k) Precinct 11--Pineland--Beginning at intersection of Hampton/Jasper County at the Georgia state line on the Savannah River--northeast on the county line to canal northeast of S-26-- southeast on canal to intersection with SC 462--southeast on 462 to Gillison Branch--southwest on Gillison Branch to canal--south on canal to state road 22--west on 22 to US 321--northwest on 321 to Cypress Branch--southwest and southeast on Cypress Branch to intersection with state road 119--northwest on 119 to State Highway 119--southwest on State Highway 119 to the county line--northwest on county line to origin.

(l) Precinct 12--Coosawhatchie--Beginning at the intersection of SC 462 and state road 39--east on 462 to state road 53--northwest on 53 to eastern branch of unnamed creek--north on branch to main creek--northeast on creek to intersection with county line--east, then south on county line to intersection with Coosawhatchie River and Broad River--northwest on Coosawhatchie River to Bees Creek--west on Bees Creek to state road 39--north on 39 to origin.

(m) Precinct 13--Levy--Beginning at the intersection of Hardeeville city limits and state road 176--southeast on 176 to State Highway 46--southeast on State Highway 46 to State Highway 170--northeast on State Highway 170 to county line--southeast on county line to intersection with Savannah River and Georgia county line--north on county line to I-95--northeast on I-95 to Hardeeville city limits--southeast on city limits to origin."

Board to change voter registration

SECTION 2. The board of registration (board) of Jasper County shall appropriately change voter registration to reflect the new precinct for any person whose registration is transferred to another precinct by virtue of the provisions of this act. The board shall accomplish this change on any form or with any written notification, which the State Election Commission must provide, in accordance with general provisions of law relating to voter registration.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
