AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 57-3-20, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, SO AS TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Department governed by commission

SECTION 1. Section 57-3-20 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 82 of 1977, is further amended to read:

"Section 57-3-20. The Department is governed by the State Highways and Public Transportation Commission and the Executive Director of the Department of Highways and Public Transportation."

Code Commissioner to change references

SECTION 2. The Code Commissioner shall change all references in the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, to the Chief Commissioner of the Department of Highways and Public Transportation to the Executive Director of the Department of Highways and Public Transportation.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
