AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1838 OF 1972, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE RABON CREEK RURAL WATER DISTRICT IN GREENVILLE AND LAURENS COUNTIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE AREA IN LAURENS COUNTY INCLUDED IN THE WESTERN CAROLINA SEWER DISTRICT MAY BE SERVED FOR INDUSTRIAL PURPOSES BY AN ADJOINING WATER DISTRICT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Adjoining water district may provide water for industrial

purposes

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 6 of Act 1838 of 1972, as last amended by Act 266 of 1979, is further amended to read:

"To the end that the District shall not unduly compete with the existing publicly operated water systems in the service area, the District shall not sell water to be used by persons or private corporations within the corporate limits of municipalities which own and operate a municipal waterworks system and agreed upon service areas adjoining the municipalities, nor shall it sell water elsewhere than in Laurens County and in the four small areas of Greenville County described in this section. Laurens County and the four small areas of Greenville County described in this section are defined to be the service area of the District. That area in Laurens County included in the Western Carolina Sewer District may be served for industrial purposes by an adjoining water district."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
