AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE 7, CHAPTER 17 OF TITLE 44, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PROCEDURES FOR JUDICIAL COMMITMENT, BY ADDING SECTION 44-17-660 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT MONIES APPROPRIATED TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 7, CHAPTER 17 OF TITLE 44 MAY BE PAID TO A STATE EMPLOYEE IF THE EMPLOYEE IS NOT PERFORMING HIS OFFICIAL DUTIES AS A STATE EMPLOYEE AND IS NOT A FULL-TIME STATE EMPLOYEE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

State employees may be paid

SECTION 1. Article 7, Chapter 17 of Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-17-660. Monies appropriated to implement the provisions of this article may be paid to a state employee if the employee is not performing his duties as a state employee and is not a full-time state employee."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
