AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-17-1050, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO STATIONARY OR FIXED NETS, SO AS TO CHANGE THE DISTANCE REQUIRED BETWEEN NETS FROM TWO HUNDRED FEET TO TWO HUNDRED YARDS EXCEPT FOR THE DISTANCE REQUIRED BETWEEN CHANNEL NETS WHICH IS CHANGED FROM TWO HUNDRED YARDS TO TWO HUNDRED FEET.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Distance required between nets

SECTION 1. Section 50-17-1050 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 485 of 1984, is further amended to read:

"Section 50-17-1050. It is unlawful to place or set any stationary or fixed nets, including a gill net, fyke net, pound net, or seine within two hundred yards of any net or device previously set. It is unlawful to place or set any channel net within two hundred feet of any other channel net."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
