AN ACT TO REDEFINE THE MAGISTERIAL DISTRICTS IN FAIRFIELD COUNTY, TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MAGISTRATES AND THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE, AND TO AMEND ACT 110 OF 1981, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MAGISTRATE'S COURT JURY AREAS, SO AS TO CONFORM THE JURY AREAS TO THE DISTRICTS AS MODIFIED BY THIS ACT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Magisterial districts in Fairfield County

SECTION 1. The magisterial districts in Fairfield County are redefined as follows:

Magisterial District Voting Precincts

1................. Ridgeway, Centerville, Simpson, Winnsboro Mills.

2................. Winnsboro No. 1 and that portion of Winnsboro No. 2 not included in Magisterial District 3.

3................. Mitford, Gladden Grove, White Oak, South Winnsboro, and that portion of Winnsboro No. 2 east of South Winnsboro.

4................. Feasterville, Blackstock, New Hope, Woodward, Lebanon, Hickory Ridge.

5................. Blair, Monticello, Jenkinsville, Horeb-Glenn, Greenbrier.

Term

SECTION 2. One magistrate must be appointed for each magisterial district to serve for a term of four years and until his successor is appointed and qualifies.

Terms terminated

SECTION 3. The terms of county magistrates serving on the effective date of this act are terminated upon the appointment and qualification of their successors as provided by this act.

Jury area

SECTION 4. Item 20 of Section 1 of Act 110 of 1981 is amended to read:

"(20) Fairfield County

1................. Ridgeway, Centerville, Simpson, Winnsboro Mills

2................. Winnsboro No. 1 and that portion of Winnsboro No. 2 not included in Magisterial District 3

3................. Mitford, Gladden Grove, White Oak, South Winnsboro, and that portion of Winnsboro No. 2 east of South Winnsboro

SECTION 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1985.
