AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING ARTICLE 7 IN CHAPTER 23 OF TITLE 57, RELATING TO HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION AND SCENIC ROUTES, SO AS TO DESIGNATE SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 174 SOUTH OF THE DAWHOO BRIDGE IN CHARLESTON COUNTY A SCENIC HIGHWAY AND TO MAKE THE DESIGNATED HIGHWAY SUBJECT TO THE HIGHWAY ADVERTISING CONTROL ACT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Article added

SECTION 1. Chapter 23, Title 57 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Article 7

Highway 174 Scenic Highway

Section 57-23-310. South Carolina Highway 174 south of Dawhoo Bridge in Charleston County is declared a scenic highway. The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall install appropriate markers and signs to implement this designation.

Section 57-23-320. That portion of South Carolina Highway 174 designated a scenic highway by this article is subject to the provisions of the Highway Advertising Control Act."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
