AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-3-310, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO GAME WARDENS, SO AS TO ELIMINATE THE REFERENCE TO TWO-YEAR TERMS, RECORDING OF CERTIFICATES, AND TAXES AND FEES AND TO AMEND THE 1976 CODE BY CHANGING ALL REFERENCES TO GAME WARDEN TO CONSERVATION OFFICER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Appointment of conservation officers - commissions - removal

SECTION 1. Section 50-3-310 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 50-3-310. The South Carolina Wildlife and Marine Resources Commission shall appoint conservation officers. The Commission shall issue a commission to each person appointed as a conservation officer. A conservation officer may be removed by the Commission upon proof satisfactory to it that he is not fit for the position."

References to game warden changed to conservation officers

SECTION 2. All references in the 1976 Code to game warden are changed to conservation officer.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
