AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-21-170, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO REGULATIONS OF THE WILDLIFE AND MARINE RESOURCES DEPARTMENT RELATIVE TO BOATING, SO AS TO ADOPT FEDERAL STATUTES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO WATERCRAFT AND WATERCRAFT SAFETY AS THE LAW OF THIS STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Laws of State relating to watercraft and watercraft safety

SECTION 1. Section 50-21-170 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 50-21-170. The statutes and regulations, including the United States Coast Guard Navigational Rules that pertain to watercraft and watercraft safety, associated marine equipment, performance and operation of watercraft, standard numbering and registration enacted by the Congress of the United States or as promulgated by the appropriate department of the United States government, are the law of the State of South Carolina. Any person violating the provisions of the statutes or regulations, upon conviction, must be punished as provided in Section 50-21-150."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
