AN ACT TO REPEAL ACT 1204 OF 1968, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF THE MARION-MULLINS VOCATIONAL EDUCATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES; AND TO AMEND ACT 63 OF 1957, RELATING TO RATIFICATION OF THE CONSOLIDATION OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN MARION COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE NAME OF DISTRICT NO. 3 FROM LOWER MARION COUNTY TO RAINS-CENTENARY AND TO DELETE THE REFERENCE TO THE STATE EDUCATIONAL FINANCE COMMISSION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Repeal
SECTION 1. Act 1204 of 1968 is repealed.
School districts of Marion County
SECTION 2. Section 1 of Act 63 of 1957 is amended to read:
"Section 1. All action heretofore taken in connection with the consolidation of the former school districts of Marion County into four school districts known as Marion District No. 1, Mullins District No. 2, Rains-Centenary District No. 3, and Brittons Neck District No. 4 is ratified. The districts are the official school districts of Marion County. The provisions of this act in no way limit or prohibit the proper school authorities in the state or county from further consolidating the school districts or from creating new districts if necessary."
Time effective
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
