AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-1165, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO TRAPS AND EEL POTS, SO AS TO ALLOW THEM TO BE SUSPENDED ABOVE THE BOTTOM OF THE WATERS WHERE THEY ARE USED AT A DEPTH WHICH DOES NOT CREATE A HAZARD TO WATERCRAFT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Traps and eel pots suspended above bottom of waters

SECTION 1. Section 50-13-1165(C)(1) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(1) Traps and eel pots may be suspended above the bottom of the body of water in which they are used at a depth which does not create a hazard to watercraft passing over them."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
