AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO CHARGE AND COLLECT INCIDENTAL FEES FROM PUPILS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Incidental pupil fees

SECTION 1. The Williamsburg County School District is authorized to charge and collect incidental fees from pupils to help pay the costs of items used by students including but not limited to textbooks, school supplies, and special courses, programs, or activities in which students participate provided the following criteria are met:

(1) the fee must be reasonable; and

(2) the item for which the fee is charged must be part of the district's educational program.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
