AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 632 OF 1980, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO FURTHER PROVIDE FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE OPERATION OF THE DISTRICT AND THE TAX MILLAGE NECESSARY TO BE LEVIED IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Tax millage

SECTION 1. Item (3) of Section 2 of Act 632 of 1980 is amended to read:

"(3) Prepare and approve the annual budget for the operation of the district and determine the tax millage necessary for budgetary purposes, the millage not to exceed the millage producing the minimum required local funding obligations of the school district under the provisions of Act 163 of 1977 (Education Finance Act), or if greater, the requirements imposed by the Education Improvement Act of 1984, or the amount necessary to produce local revenues in an amount not to exceed by more than three mills the local revenues expended by the school district for general operational purposes during the preceding fiscal year."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
