AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 2-1-85, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS OF STATE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, SO AS TO MAKE THE TERM OF LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS OF STATE BOARDS OR COMMISSIONS COTERMINOUS WITH THEIR TERM OF OFFICE IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Terms

SECTION 1. Section 2-1-85 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 2-1-85. The term of legislative members of the state boards and commissions is coterminous with their term of office in the General Assembly except that they shall serve until their successors are elected or appointed and qualify. Nothing in this section prohibits the reappointment of legislative members to state boards or commissions."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
