The House assembled at 10: 00 A. M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Almighty God, seen by the pure in heart, known by those who love Thee, and found by those who seek Thee, give us the ability to fulfill our high calling to serve Thee in our present age. May we be inspired by all that is holiest in our heritage and welcome all that is healthiest in innovations. Grant to Thy servants in this body the individuality which is creative, the discipline which sustains, the diversity which enriches, and the unity of purpose which accomplishes Thy will for this great state and for its people. May our every moment be lived under the shelter of Thy presence, and for the glory of Thy holy Name.

All praise to God forever and ever. Amen.
