The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Eternal God, we bow before You in this prayer to seek a fresh vision of Your presence that we may be renewed in body, refreshed in spirit, and reinvigorated in mind for this day's work. Out of any differences and discords, enable us to work together in concert and live together in harmony. So guide us throughout every moment of this day and bring us safely to eventide. Give us the courage to stand up for high ideals lest we become satisfied with low ideas and wonder why great and good things do not come to pass.

Lead us this day and all days into the path of righteousness for Your Name's sake. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
