AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 14-25-170 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT JURORS FOR MUNICIPAL COURTS, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNING BODY, MAY BE DRAWN AND SUMMONED BY COMPUTER IN THE MANNER THE SUPREME COURT BY ORDER DIRECTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Jurors may be drawn and summoned by computer

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 14-25-170. In lieu of the manner required by this chapter, jurors for municipal courts, at the discretion of the governing body of the municipality, may be drawn and summoned by computer in the manner the Supreme Court by order directs."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
