A JOINT RESOLUTION TO ADOPT REVISED CODE VOLUMES 11 AND 20 AND NEW VOLUME 20A OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, TO THE EXTENT OF THEIR CONTENTS, AS THE ONLY GENERAL PERMANENT STATUTORY LAW OF THE STATE AS OF JANUARY 1, 1990.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Findings

SECTION 1. (A) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code authorizes the Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner to contract to be prepared and published under their supervision and direction revised volumes of the Code of Laws when, in their judgment, the supplement of any volume becomes too bulky for convenient use.

(B) The Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner have determined that the cumulative supplements to Volumes 11 and 20 have become too bulky for convenient use.

(C) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code also provides that the revised volumes must be submitted to the General Assembly for its consideration.

Volumes adopted

SECTION 2. (A) Revised Volume 11 containing Title 33, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, is substituted for original Volume 11 containing the same title.

(B) Revised Volume 20 and new Volume 20A, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, containing Titles 59 through 61, are substituted for original Volume 20 containing the same titles.

(C) Revised Volumes 11, 20, and new Volume 20A are adopted as part of the Code of Laws and to the extent of their contents the only general permanent statutory law of the State as of January 1, 1990.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
