AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 40-13-90, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO COSMETOLOGISTS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A REGISTERED MASTER HAIR CARE SPECIALIST MAY QUALIFY AS A COSMETOLOGIST.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Cosmetology, education requirements

SECTION 1. Section 40-13-90(1)(b) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(b) has completed at least one thousand five hundred hours in classes in cosmetology in a reliable school approved by the board, or is a registered master hair care specialist under the provisions of Chapter 7 of this title who has satisfied educational requirements established by the board by regulation;".

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
