(A309, R294, S274)
AN ACT TO VEST IN CLEMSON UNIVERSITY THE TITLE TO LANDS CONSTITUTING PORTIONS OF THE OLD PEE DEE EXPERIMENT STATION IN FLORENCE COUNTY PREVIOUSLY ACQUIRED BY THIS STATE FOR THE USE OF CLEMSON UNIVERSITY IN ITS AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Findings
SECTION 1. The General Assembly finds that:
(1) the real estate previously conveyed by the deeds referenced in Section 2 was conveyed to this State but that it was acquired for the use of Clemson University as part of its agricultural research program;
(2) the property was paid for by the trustees of Clemson Agricultural College of South Carolina as recited in the deeds;
(3) the property has been used continuously by Clemson University for its purposes and as its own since its acquisition;
(4) this State has not asserted in the past nor does it now assert any rights in the property inconsistent with the full rights of ownership of the property by Clemson University.
Therefore, it is appropriate that title to these lands vest absolutely in Clemson University.
Title to lands vested in Clemson University
SECTION 2. All the rights, title, and interest of this State in and to the property conveyed by and described in the deeds referenced in this section are vested in Clemson University:
