AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1201 OF 1968, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE LEXINGTON COUNTY RECREATION COMMISSION, SO AS TO ELIMINATE THE RESTRICTION WHICH LIMITS MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION TO NO MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE TERMS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Recreation Commission of Lexington County

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 4 of Act 1201 of 1968, as last amended by Act 617 of 1980, is further amended to read:

"The district is governed by a commission to be known as the Recreation Commission of Lexington County which is composed of eleven resident electors of the district to be appointed by the Governor upon the recommendation of a majority of the Lexington County Legislative Delegation. In making recommendations, the delegation shall endeavor to give representation to all sections of the district. The terms of office of the members of the commission are five years and until their successors are appointed and qualify. Vacancies must be filled for the balance of the unexpired term in the manner of the original appointment."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
