AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-5015, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO SUNSCREEN DEVICES ON MOTOR VEHICLES, SO AS TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE LABEL REQUIRED TO BE INSTALLED ON THE DEVICES FROM ONE AND ONE-HALF SQUARE INCH TO TWO SQUARE INCHES AND TO REQUIRE THE LABEL TO INCLUDE THE INSTALLER'S NAME, ADDRESS, AND TELEPHONE NUMBER INSTEAD OF THE MANUFACTURER'S NAME.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Sunscreen devices on motor vehicles

SECTION 1. Section 56-5-5015(E)(2) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 532 of 1988, is further amended to read:

"(2) bear a label not to exceed two square inches in size, with a means for the permanent and legible installations between the sunscreening material and each glazing surface to which it is applied that contains the installer's name, address, and telephone number and its percentage of light transmission;".

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
