AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-19-55 SO AS TO EXEMPT FROM DISCLOSURE CERTAIN APPLICATIONS, EXAMINATIONS, SCORES, EXAMINATION REPORTS, AND OTHER RELATED MATERIAL OF THE COOPERATIVE INTERAGENCY MERIT SYSTEM AND TO PROVIDE THAT THIS PROVISION DOES NOT RESTRICT THE ABILITY OF THE MERIT SYSTEM COUNCIL TO DISCLOSE NECESSARY INFORMATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTRACTING FOR SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Exemptions from disclosure

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 8-19-55. All applications, examinations, scoring keys, scores, registers, and examination reports of the Cooperative Interagency Merit System are exempt from disclosure. This section in no way restricts the ability of the Merit System Council to disclose necessary information for the purpose of contracting for services."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
