A JOINT RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO ERECT CERTAIN DIRECTIONAL SIGNS IN RICHLAND COUNTY RELATING TO THE LOCATION OF THE LUTHERAN THEOLOGICAL SOUTHERN SEMINARY AND IN GREENVILLE COUNTY RELATING TO THE GREENVILLE ZOO, AS DIRECTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATIONS OF THE COUNTIES.
Whereas, the General Assembly finds it is necessary and desirable to erect directional signs on the highways of this State to designate the location of certain institutions; and
Whereas, the General Assembly finds that directional signs should be erected in Richland County to designate the location of the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary and in Greenville County to designate the location of the Greenville Zoo. Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Directional signs
SECTION 1. The South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation is directed to erect directional signs on Interstate 20 pertaining to the location of the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary which is located in Richland County. The location, type, and placement of the directional signs must be approved by letter of the Richland County Delegation. The Department is further directed to erect directional signs on Interstate 385 pertaining to the Greenville Zoo which is located in Greenville County. The location, type, and placement of the directional signs must be approved by letter of the Greenville County Delegation.
Copy forwarded
SECTION 2. A copy of this resolution must be forwarded to the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation.
Erection of signs
SECTION 3. Upon receipt of the appropriate letter of communication from the Richland and Greenville County Delegations, the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation is directed to erect these directional signs no later than one hundred twenty days after receipt of each letter.
Time effective
SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
