The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Our Father in Heaven, Who understands every secret of our minds - all we fear, all that we hope for, all for which we are discouraged when we fall before the same old hurdles, we know that we are not what we are capable of becoming, that we are not what we ought to be, but thankful that we are not what we once were. Help us to remember that those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. Compel us to be just and honest in all our dealings, let our motives be above suspicion, our word be our bond, keep us charitable in our relationships with others, slow to judge. Make us speak and vote and live so as to merit Your blessings.

In the Name of Jesus and for His sake we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
