A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE MRS. DOT KING OF AIKEN COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER SEVENTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY AND TO THANK HER FOR HER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

Whereas, Mrs. Dot King of Aiken County celebrated her seventy-fifth birthday December 5, 1991, and was recognized by Aiken County school administrators and students and her family and presented two appreciation awards for her work in education; and

Whereas, Mrs. King began teaching elementary school in Aiken County in 1945 after she received a graduate degree in music education from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. Her first job was at Gloverville Elementary; and

Whereas, she also was assistant principal at Bath Elementary, retiring from Jefferson Elementary several years ago; and

Whereas, Mrs. King has taught adult education for twenty-five years and currently teaches four days a week at Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle School and two nights a week at Hamburg Industries; and

Whereas, Owen Clary, director of staff development and certification at the Aiken County School District said Mrs. King also was instrumental in the adult education program at Hamburg Industries in North Augusta; and

Whereas, the Senate wishes to salute Mrs. King on her seventy-fifth birthday for her many contributions in the field of education. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate recognize Mrs. Dot King of Aiken County upon the occasion of her seventy-fifth birthday and thank her for her many years of service in the Aiken County public school system.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. King.
