A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE HEATH HILL OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR BEING THE STATE'S TOP CORN GROWER FOR 1991.

Whereas, Heath Hill of Eastover, South Carolina, has been named the state's top corn grower for 1991 by the Clemson Extension Service; and

Whereas, he is the first Richland County farmer to win the state yield contest; and

Whereas, Mr. Hill is also the first South Carolina farmer to win both the irrigated and dry land yield competitions; and

Whereas, his farm yielded one hundred eighty-nine and nine-tenths bushels per acre on irrigated land and two hundred seven and nine-tenths bushels per acre on dry land; and

Whereas, Mr. Hill has been farming in the lower Richland area for most of his life where his farm is not far from the confluence of the Wateree and Congaree Rivers; and

Whereas, the General Assembly wishes to recognize Mr. Hill for his hard work and farming achievement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly by this resolution recognize and congratulate Mr. Heath Hill of Richland County for being named the state's top corn grower for 1991 and the first South Carolina farmer to win both the irrigated and dry land yield competitions.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Heath Hill, Eastover, South Carolina.
