TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION BOARD, RELATING TO BIOLOGICAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS, PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS AND WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1390, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Environmental Certification Board, relating to biological wastewater treatment plant operators, physical/chemical wastewater treatment plant operators and water treatment plant operators, designated as Regulation Document Number 1390, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

These changes would require biological wastewater treatment plant operators, physical/chemical wastewater treatment plant operators and water treatment plant operators to have at least a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate in order to become certified by the Board. Additionally fees charged by the Board would no longer be limited to an increase of 6% per year.
