A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING SANDRA WELCH OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GREENVILLE COUNTY ON THE COMMENCEMENT OF HER TERM AS PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS FOR 1992-93.

Whereas, Sandra Welch of the School District of Greenville County served as president-elect of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators for 1991-92 and is commencing her term of office as president of the association for 1992-93; and

Whereas, Ms. Welch was recognized in 1986 as the National Distinguished Principal from South Carolina, and she served as a review panelist in 1988 and as a site visitor in 1990 for the United States Department of Education's Recognition Program; and

Whereas, she served a president of the South Carolina Association of Elementary and Middle School Principals in 1988-89 and is the South Carolina representative to the National Association of Elementary School Principals; and

Whereas, her school, Augusta Circle Elementary School, was judged as one of "Palmetto's Finest" for 1981; and

Whereas, she has been involved in numerous community and civic endeavors and is an outstanding professional in the field of education who is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Sandra Welch of the School District of Greenville County on the commencement of her term as president of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators for 1992-93.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Welch at Augusta Circle Elementary School, 100 Winyah Street, Greenville, 29605.
