A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE RAY ALEXANDER OF LEE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER SERVING CONTINUOUSLY SINCE 1970 AS A MEMBER OF LEE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned that Ray Alexander of Lee County has decided to retire from Lee County Council; and

Whereas, Mr. Alexander was elected in 1970 and believes that he was the longest sitting member of a South Carolina county council at the time of his retirement this month; and

Whereas, prior to serving on the council, he was a member of Lee County School Board; and

Whereas, Mr. Alexander worked hard on several interests which have improved the quality of life for the citizens of Lee County which include the new prison and various industrial developmental projects; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish Mr. Alexander the best in future years but will miss his knowledge concerning the management and affairs of Lee County government. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Ray Alexander of Lee County on the occasion of his retirement after serving continuously since 1970 as a member of Lee County Council.
