TO AMEND SECTION 12-7-435, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEDUCTIONS FROM TAXABLE INCOME, SO AS TO PROVIDE A DEDUCTION FOR ATTORNEY FEES AND COURT COSTS INVOLVED IN THE ADOPTION OF A CHILD.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 12-7-435 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 189 of 1989, is further amended by adding an appropriately lettered item to read:
"( ) Not to exceed five thousand dollars for attorney fees and court costs involved in the adoption of a child paid by the adoptive parent."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
