TO AMEND SECTION 7-11-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF PARTY PRIMARY ELECTIONS, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE COMMITTEE OF A PARTY TO SET THE DATE AND TIMES THAT THE POLLS WILL BE OPEN AND THE FILING REQUIREMENTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 7-11-20 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding the following paragraph at the end:
"A political party wishing to hold a presidential primary election may do so in accordance with the provisions of this title and party rules, provided that, notwithstanding any other provisions of this title, the State Committee of such party is to set the date and times that the polls will be open for such presidential primary and the filing requirements."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
