TO COMMEND ONE OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S MOST DISTINGUISHED ATTORNEYS, MR. JOHN GREGG MCMASTER OF COLUMBIA, UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANIES.
Whereas, John Gregg McMaster of Columbia is one of South Carolina's most respected and distinguished trial attorneys; and
Whereas, he has served his native State in many capacities including service as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, President of the Richland County Bar Association, Chairman of the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Richland County Public Defender Corporation; and
Whereas, from 1956 to 1991, in conjunction with the private practice of law, he has served as Executive Director of the Association of South Carolina Life Insurance Companies and in this capacity has earned the respect, admiration, and affection not only of the members of his association but also of the members of the General Assembly and other state and local public officials with whom he has come into contact; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives have learned with deep regret that he will be retiring this year from this position and it is with great sadness that the members of the House and particularly the members of the House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee will bid him goodbye after his attendance at over 1,750 meetings of the committee over a span of thirty-five years; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate him for his outstanding service as Executive Director of the Association of South Carolina Life Insurance Companies upon his retirement from this position and wish to him Godspeed in all his future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives hereby commend one of South Carolina's most distinguished attorneys, Mr. John Gregg McMaster of Columbia, upon his retirement as Executive Director of the Association of South Carolina Life Insurance Companies.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. McMaster.
