A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AT THE DEATH OF UNION CITY COUNCILMAN HARRY BYRD AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Union City Councilman Harry Byrd died on March 7, 1992, at the age of fifty; and

Whereas, he was a native of Union, and a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was elected to the city council in 1990 to represent District 2; and

Whereas, he was a talented and dedicated member of the council and took his duties and responsibilities of public service very seriously; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding individual who was much loved, respected, and admired in Union; and

Whereas, we want his family and his many friends to know that they are in our thoughts at this painful time and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Union City Councilman Harry Byrd and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Byrd's family.
