A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO MR. JAMES N. MCFADDEN OF SUMMERTON FOR HIS YEARS OF DEVOTED AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE TOWN OF SUMMERTON.

Whereas, Mr. James N. McFadden of Summerton became the first black elected to the town council of Summerton in its one hundred years as an incorporated community; and

Whereas, Councilman McFadden devoted an untiring twelve years of service to the town council; and

Whereas, he quickly earned the respect of his peers and community leaders; and

Whereas, Councilman McFadden is a champion of issues to the people of his community and a firm and ardent supporter of fairness and justice for all; and

Whereas, Councilman McFadden is active in many civil organizations; and

Whereas, his service to the community has touched the hearts and minds of all people of Summerton. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express gratitude to Councilman James N. McFadden for his years of devoted and dedicated service to the Town of Summerton.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Councilman McFadden.
