A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OF S. SCOTT GRIFFIN AS A MEMBER OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE HOUSING, FINANCE, AND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FROM 1985 UNTIL DECEMBER, 1991.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note that S. Scott Griffin served from his appointment in 1985 until December of 1991 as a member of the Board of the South Carolina State Housing, Finance, and Development Authority; and

Whereas, during his distinguished term of service on the board, he championed the cause of the authority through his efforts to increase the supply of quality, affordable, rental, and home ownership opportunities for persons and families in South Carolina with low and moderate-to-low incomes; and

Whereas, his strong support and advocacy of increasing housing options and opportunities in rural areas of the State have been recognized by those who served with him on the authority's Board of Commissioners and by all those familiar with the work of the authority; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they might recognize the distinguished service of this outstanding South Carolinian who served with such distinction to promote housing opportunities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their appreciation for the distinguished service of S. Scott Griffin as a member of the South Carolina State Housing, Finance, and Development Authority from 1985 until 1991.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to S. Scott Griffin.
