A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE CAPTAIN JERRY BODIE OF AIKEN COUNTY WHO WAS RECENTLY AWARDED "OFFICER OF THE YEAR" FOR THE BELVEDERE FIRE DISTRICT.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were delighted to learn that Captain Jerry Bodie of Aiken County was recently awarded "Officer of the Year" for the Belvedere Fire District; and

Whereas, Captain Bodie is a South Carolina certified firefighter who began service with the Belvedere Fire District in 1980; and

Whereas, in his ten years of service he has shown continuous dedication to his community and the Belvedere Fire Department; and

Whereas, Jerry Bodie has spent numerous years at the department being sure that the equipment and personnel were ready to meet the needs of the community if required; and

Whereas, even after receiving a fire-related injury, Captain Bodie has continued to demonstrate bravery in his performance; and

Whereas, among his other contributions, he is past president of the Belvedere Jaycees, State Jaycee Officer, and a member of the Medic Army National Guard between the years of 1979 and 1985; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly congratulate this outstanding individual for his unselfish dedication to the citizens of his community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Captain Jerry Bodie of Aiken County who was recently awarded "Officer of the Year" for the Belvedere Fire District.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Captain Jerry Bodie.
