TO AMEND ACT 267 OF 1985, RELATING TO ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF CHARLESTON COUNTY BY DORCHESTER COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE DORCHESTER COUNTY DELEGATION.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Act 267 of 1985 is amended by adding the following section:
"Section 1(A). Notwithstanding the annexation of the territory specified in this act or any other provision of law, the membership of the Dorchester County Legislative Delegation shall be comprised of the Senators representing Districts 38 and 39, and the members of the House of Representatives representing Districts 92, 97, and 98. The provisions of this section shall terminate on the date of the next general election when members of the state House of Representatives or state Senate are elected."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
