AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-280, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES IN GREENVILLE COUNTY, SO AS TO REDEFINE THE BOUNDARIES OF PRECINCT 56, PLEASANT GROVE, AND PROVIDE FOR A NEW POLLING PLACE FOR THAT PRECINCT, AND TO ESTABLISH A NEW PRECINCT, NAMELY, 56A, RIVERSIDE, AND PROVIDE FOR ITS POLLING PLACE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Precinct redefined; new polling place

SECTION 1. Precinct 56, Pleasant Grove, as contained in Section 7-7-280 of the 1976 Code, is amended to read:

"Precinct 56, Pleasant Grove, consists of that area bounded as follows: beginning at the intersection of state road 540 (Suber Road) and U.S. Highway 29 (Wade Hampton Boulevard); northeast on U.S. Highway 29 to the Greer city limits; southeasterly on the Greer city limits to the Greenville-Spartanburg county line; south on the county line to the Enoree River; northwest on the Enoree River to state road 166 (Brushy Creek Road); southwest on state road 166 to state road 540; and north on state road 540 to U.S. Highway 29 the point of beginning. The polling place for this precinct is the Pelham-Batesville Fire District substation."

New precinct

SECTION 2. Section 7-7-280 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by an act of 1991 bearing ratification number 91, is further amended by adding in proper numerical sequence:

"Precinct 56A, Riverside, consists of that area bounded as follows: beginning at the intersection of state road 166 (Brushy Creek Road) and the Enoree River; southeast on the Enoree River to state road 94 (Hammett Bridge Road); west on state road 94 to state road 166; and northeast on state road 166 to the Enoree River the point of beginning. The polling place for this precinct is Riverside High School."

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
