A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND LARRY W. PROPES FOR HIS EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND THE OFFICE OF COURT ADMINISTRATION UPON HIS APPOINTMENT AS CLERK OF THE FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT, AND TO WISH HIM THE VERY BEST IN HIS NEW ENDEAVOR.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Larry W. Propes has been named Clerk of the Federal District Court; and

Whereas, Larry Propes served as general counsel for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health from 1974 to 1982 and has been Deputy Director for the office of Court Administration from 1982 to the present; and

Whereas, seldom has a public servant served his state as admirably for twenty years as has Larry Propes, and he will be sorely missed by the judges and court staffs throughout the State; and

Whereas, fortunately this long-time West Columbia resident will be remaining in South Carolina, and state government's loss without question is the federal government's gain; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly thank and recognize this talented and very capable attorney for his service to the State of South Carolina and to wish him Godspeed in his new position with the Federal District Court. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring: That the members of the General Assembly hereby commend Larry W. Propes for his exemplary service to the State of South Carolina with the Department of Mental Health and the Office of Court Administration upon his appointment as Clerk of the Federal District Court.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Larry W. Propes.
