A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-1055 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE WILDLIFE AND MARINE RESOURCES DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST DEER DEPREDATION PERMITTEES IN ELIMINATING A DAMAGE PROBLEM IF THE PERMIT IS INEFFECTIVE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-1055. If a deer depredation permit issued by the South Carolina Wildlife and Marine Resources Department is ineffective in eliminating the problem of excessive damage to crops and property, the department through its resources shall assist the permittee in eliminating the problem."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
