A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-425 SO AS TO PROVIDE REQUIREMENTS FOR A HUNT CLUB WHICH FEEDS DEER, PROVIDE PENALTIES, AND DEFINE "HUNT CLUB".

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-425. (A) A hunt club in this State which feeds deer on land hunted by the club during a portion of a year shall continue to feed the deer the same amount of feed and with the same regularity throughout the entire year.

(B) A person who violates this section, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars or imprisoned not more than thirty days. All members of a hunt club which violates this section may be convicted for a violation.

(C) As used in this section, `hunt club' means a group of people organized for the common purpose of hunting game for food or sport."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
