TO CONGRATULATE TONY DUNKIN, STUDENT AND OUTSTANDING ATHLETE AT COASTAL CAROLINA COLLEGE, FOR HIS BASKETBALL ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that Tony Dunkin of Coastal Carolina College has been recognized for the fourth time as Big South Conference Player-of-the-Year. He is the only player in NCAA history to earn Conference Player-of-the-Year honors for all four years; and
Whereas, Tony Dunkin is the leading scorer in Big South history and the leading scorer in Coastal Carolina history with 2,l5l career points; and
Whereas, Coastal Carolina had a 73-l8 record when Athlete Dunkin was in the lineup. Tony Dunkin possesses extraordinary ability with a magnetic personality which enabled him to amass exceptional milestones as the career leader at Coastal Carolina College in field goals made, free throws, and rebounds; and
Whereas, Tony Dunkin scored 759 points this season which was the second most points scored in a single season by a Coastal Carolina College player. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly would like to publicly recognize Tony Dunkin, an exemplary athlete whose achievements have merited the regard of all who know him.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ronald G. Eaglin, Chancellor, and Russ Bergman, Coach of Coastal Carolina College.
