TO CONGRATULATE TARA MARIE KILLIAN OF COLUMBIA UPON BEING NAMED MISS 1993 TEEN SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Miss Tara Marie Killian of Columbia competed as Miss 1993 South Carolina High School in state competition; and
Whereas, she won the Spokesmodel category in the competition with her presentation on `Drinking and Driving'; and
Whereas, Miss Killian is a junior at Irmo High School where she is ranked number one academically in the junior class and has received numerous awards and honors, and she is a member of the National Honor Society, All-State Chorus "Honors", USC Honors Chorus, the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts, and is Miss Junior at Irmo High School; and
Whereas, she has special interests of working with the Special Olympics and Children's Hospital; and
Whereas, Miss Killian was named Miss 1993 Teen South Carolina and will represent South Carolina in the Miss Teen Scholarship Program this summer; and
Whereas, as Miss 1993 Teen South Carolina, she represents the highest qualities of intelligence, poise, beauty, and involvement in career and community; and
Whereas, Miss Killian would like to pursue a career in medicine with her lifelong dream of a career in the performing arts. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Tara Marie Killian of Columbia upon being named Miss 1993 Teen South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Killian.
