A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE HONORABLE RALPH "BUCK" BELL, JR. OF CLARENDON COUNTY ON BEING NAMED CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL BEEF INDUSTRY COUNCIL.

Whereas, the Honorable Ralph "Buck" Bell, Jr., of Clarendon County has been named chairman of the national Beef Industry Council, and he assumed those duties and responsibilities on August 14, 1993; and

Whereas, Buck Bell is a leader in South Carolina agriculture and represents the agricultural industry with vision and dedication; and

Whereas, he served with distinction for many years on the Summerton Town Council, has been the Pee Dee Regional Director of the South Carolina Farm Bureau, and serves as chairman of the South Carolina Cattle & Beef Board; and

Whereas, he will be representing forty-four states in all areas of beef promotion, education, and research as chairman of the national organization; and

Whereas, he is nationally known and admired for his contributions to agriculture and is highly deserving of recognition for the honor he has brought upon himself and his State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Honorable Ralph "Buck" Bell, Jr., of Clarendon County on being named chairman of the national Beef Industry Council.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Bell and also to Mrs. Patsy Laird-Bates, Executive Director of the South Carolina Cattle & Beef Board, both at P.O. Box 11280, Columbia 29211.
