A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXTENDING CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. BOB MCCROSKY OF AIKEN COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THE EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY OF THIS OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE.

Whereas, Mr. Bob McCrosky of Aiken County was a founding member of the South Carolina affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union and served as a board member of the South Carolina affiliate for twenty-five years; and

Whereas, he is the namesake (along with his wife Jean) of the South Carolina ACLU affiliate's "Volunteer of the Year" award; and

Whereas, he has been a human rights activist all his life, and he epitomizes the dedication of those who have not only supported the ACLU and human rights causes through the years, but also contributed much to the growth of this organization and its many successes; and

Whereas, this esteemed civil libertarian achieves a great milestone in his life on April 2, 1994, when he celebrates his eightieth birthday, and it is indeed fitting that congratulations and recognition be accorded him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extends congratulations to Mr. Bob McCrosky of Aiken County on the occasion of the eightieth birthday of this outstanding and dedicated human rights advocate.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. McCrosky at 221 Beaver Branch Road, Aiken, 29801.
