A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF MR. JAMES (BIG DADDY) KENNEDY, SR., OF RICHLAND COUNTY, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mr. James (Big Daddy) Kennedy, Sr., of Richland County recently died at the age of eighty-three; and

Whereas, Mr. Kennedy's funeral services were held at New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Columbia on Tuesday, April 26, 1994; and

Whereas, he was employed by the State of South Carolina for thirty-five years and was a devoted member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, chairman of the trustee board, a trustee, and treasurer; and

Whereas, he was respected, admired, and beloved by all who knew him, and his presence will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Mr. James (Big Daddy) Kennedy, Sr., of Richland County and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Kennedy's family.
