CONGRATULATING KAREN E. BURGESS OF HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL, SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICT TWO, ON HER ACADEMIC AND SCHOLARSHIP HONORS AND AWARDS.
Whereas, Karen Elizabeth Burgess of Sumter School District Two is the daughter of Jessie and Carrie Burgess of Wedgefield and is a graduating senior at Hillcrest High School; and
Whereas, she has been named a Furman Scholar, a Presbyterian Scholar, a Lander Junior Fellow, a National Achievement semi-finalist, and an academic challenge team member; and
Whereas, she has made Hillcrest High School and Sumter School District Two extremely proud of her academic accomplishments, and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such an outstanding young woman. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Karen E. Burgess of Hillcrest High School, Sumter School District Two, on her academic and scholarship honors and awards.
